YUKON NORTHERN LIGHTS RETREAT
Overview
This is one of our most popular packages to experience The Yukon’s spectacular Aurora Borealis* and authentically Canadian winter activities while relaxing on a well-deserved retreat. Stay in one of the private, cozy alpine log chalets and enjoy all home-cooked meals, including a healthy European-style breakfast every morning, and lunch and a family-style, three-course dinner served for you as per itinerary. This package also includes a guided Northern Lights viewing with bonfire every night, a Yukon winter activity -your choice of dog sledding experience or introduction to snowmobiling-, and a guided city tour of Whitehorse, as well as roundtrip airfare and transfers from/to the Whitehorse airport.
*Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and we cannot guarantee that you will see them. We will ensure that your trip remains a bucket list experience, even if you are not fortunate enough to see the Aurora Borealis!

FAQs
Will I be able to see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis)?
The Yukon Territory is one of the best destinations in Canada and the world to get a chance to see the Aurora Borealis. With up to 240 nights of visibility every year, the best time to spot them is usually from November to March (when this package is offered), as the nights are long and dark, and make the lights brighter.
That being said, the Northern Lights are a weather-dependent, natural phenomenon and we cannot guarantee you will see them. However, rest assured that your trip will remain a bucket-list experience, even if you are not fortunate enough to see the Aurora!
What does the Whitehorse city tour include?
The guided Whitehorse city tour will take you to the must-see locations of the capital city of The Yukon, including the SS Klondike and Main Street. Your guide will offer informative commentary, and transportation is provided from and to your accommodations. The route and sightseeing stops may vary depending on weather conditions.
Can I depart from and arrive to a different airport than Vancouver?
Yes! You can contact us to book your roundtrip flights to The Yukon from a different airport than Vancouver, subject to availability. Please note that the price of this package will vary based on your desired departure/arrival city.
What is the weather like in The Yukon?
The Yukon Territory is located under the Arctic circle, and it extends over the polar and subpolar areas. It has a subarctic climate, which means that during the winter months (November-March), temperatures average at below zero (-10°C / 14 °F), and they are likely to drop even lower. You will get a few hours of sunlight during the short days, and long, dark nights to enjoy the Northern Lights viewing (weather-dependent).
Warm, thermal, waterproof and snow clothing is extremely recommended. This package includes an arctic clothing rental for the full duration of your stay in The Yukon, which provides a parka, pants, boots, hat and mitts for each person in your group.
